How is Zerona Unique?
Losing weight is as easy as eating right, exercising regularly, and getting laser treatements? That's at least what the makers of Zerona want you to believe. Zerona is a laser fat reduction aid. A recent clincal study on Zerona showed that it helped users go down at least a size more than the placebo.
Zerona is even FDA approved. The FDA approval does not do much to convince us considering the FDA also approved Fen-Phen. Just because a weight loss product is approved by the FDA does not mean that it will work.
How does Zerona work?
According to the manufacturers:
"Zerona is the first non-invasive body contouring procedure to effectively remove excess fat without the negative side effects associated with surgical methods. Zerona utilizes the same cold laser technology developed by Erchonia, which has been shown to emulsify fat and allow it to move to interstitial space. Although this technology was originally utilized to help assist tumescent liposuction procedures, it was found that the cold laser treatment alone helped patients to reduce inches from their waist, hip and thighs."
Because Zerona is such a new product, there is little information or clinical studies. From the little information available on Zerona, it appears to be a solid weight loss tool.
Is Zerona Safe?
There are no serious side effects associated with Zerona. According the manufacturers :
"Prior to laser exposure, fat cells have a regular, cluster shape. Within minutes of low level laser exposure, fat cells begin to develop transitory pores. This pore allows the evacuation of the cell’s contents into extracellular space . Once the contents of the fat cell have been emptied , they are released into interstitial space where it can be passed through the body during its normal course of detoxification."
So in a nutshell Zerona zaps fat cells and they are passed through in detoxification. This may cause diarrhea or oily feces. Exercise and a healthy diet are recommend with Zerona.
Zerona Pros
- approved by the FDA
- minimal side effects
- should provide some weight loss
Zerona Cons
- extremely expensive
- no significant weight loss (you will go down a size or two)
- no money back guarantee
Is Zerona Worth Trying?
How much would you pay to drop down a size? $100? $200? $2,999? Zerona treatments will set you back $2,999. $2999 are you out of your mind?
Zerona is a great weight loss aid. A series of treatments will almost guarantee that you go down a size or two...but the big question you need to ask yourself is whether it is worth $2,999. There are also effective weight loss supplements out there that will guarantee you will go down a few sizes (combined with exercise and a healthy diet) that can be purchased for around $50.
So purchasing Zerona for $3,000 may be foolish considering you get the equivalent results in a diet pill that will set you back around 50 dollars.
If you have purchased Zerona in the past, please tell us about your experience in the comment section.

I had my first Zerona treatment two days ago with anotehr scheduled today. After the treatment I had a headache, sore throat and have had diarrhea for two days. I also feel low energy and my face has been bright red since the treatment as well. I am wondering if this is because I am not overweight but doing it to lose inches on my thighs and arms. I am scared to do the next treatment, but I have already noticed a difference. I do hope this is not doing me serious damage..but they swear it won’t.
me too, i’ve experienced headache and sore throat; had only 2 treatments so far. Julie, how are you feeling now? I wonder if the headache and sore throat is caused by zerona or the t-zone vibrating machine that i’m also using before the treatment
Hi Julie,
That’s really scary. Especially because both of you reported having the same scary symptoms. I have my three sessions scheduled for next week. Did you get over your sickness/headaches? Seen a difference? Would you recommend it?
Please reply!
Thank you!
alex
I have had two treatments/sessions so far and get a really nagging headache that is not relieved by tylenol or ibuprofen. Found this site looking to see if this was a common side effect. Haven’t noticed too much different in my size but the scale keeps going up. I am thinking that’s from all the ibuprofen (retaining fluids).
